Cost Of Living by Year
Where as the “Cost of Living” has become a big problem, I’m putting together a survey to detail how bad it has become for those starting out.
The common (objective) will be the “family start year” , regardless of marriage or just becoming responsible for your family.
To start off i’ll put in my statistics for the year I got married!
| YEAR | AGE | VOC TRAINING AND COST | HOURLY WAGE | WAGE EARNERS | LOCATION | MIN-WAGE | RENTAL COST | HOME PURCHASE COST & YEAR |
| #1) – 1964 | 21 | Trade School Free | $3.12 hr $6,240.00 yr | one wage earner needed | Southern California | $1.25 | $74.50 month furn 2-br apt | $13,500 in 1966 3br 1-ba |
#1) Hourly wage was 2 1/2 times minimum wage, 3-days wages paid rent, little over twice annual income bought a home! Update my $13,500 home in 1966 is now $673,000 as per Zillow today.
